Shallow crossing is an ideal kayaking spot, very beautiful river system. North of the crossing is freshwater, there is no boat ramp and fishing from the bank would be near impossible. wild river bass inhabit these waters and it's only a short paddle from the crossing to find some action. South of the crossing is influenced by the tide, the bottom is rocky but there are plently of fishable snags where bream lay in waiting.
There is a camp site at the crossing which has a hot shower and it's only $7 per night. not the best spot to lauch a kayak from, but it can be done.
