Overview[]

Probably not a good fish to target off of our small craft - Mako's are a spectacular sportfish nontheless. Known for their agression and fighting characteristics - hooked Makos are known to make large leaps into the air, take long runs and they present a challenge when alongside a boat due to their agression and power. Growing up to 3.5 meters and beyond - if a kayak fisho were to hook one, it would be a good idea to cut your line, and your losses.

kraley caught this small Mako in 2001 off his sailboat just off North Head in Sydney
