Spooled1 came up with the following advice on live rigging for large pelagics. He recommends using a bait needle to rig the hook on a rubber band as a bridle rather than using fishing line.
He says: "With a moderate drag setting, circle hooks regularly set themselves better on the strike. The bridle rig alows the fish to swim properly in a slow troll without suffering hook damage through the nostril."
Do a cats paw on a circle hook then hook the rubber band onto the bait needle

Thread the needle through the soft spot on the eye socket.

Loop the rubber band on and around the hook and finish off by looping over the hook point.
