Of note to AKFF members because of its prevalence in certain fish in Sydney Harbour, Dioxin is a generic name for a family halogenated organic compounds that are present in the Harbour because of its history as a manufacturing site.
Dioxins are poisonous to humans, and in sufficient quantities lead to a whole host of health problems.
